It is the wedding season and the bells are ringing everywhere. On the occasion of its 175th anniversary, Swiss watch manufacturer Longines also decided to get into the celebratory mode. The brand introduced its bridal collection in India - a graceful and seductive range of watches - which were revealed on the catwalk in an exclusive fashion show by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Blush she might, but the bride also dazzles, and with this watch collection, brides this season now have a touch of elegance, style and shine marking their steps to a new time of their life.
The Longines bridal Collection comprises three lines: Longines DolceVita: elegance for today, Longines BelleArti, eternal feminism and La Grande Classique de Longines: confirming an enduring tradition, priced at Rs 100,000 onwards.
The Bridal Collection was showcased in India by a fashion presentation in New Delhi, leaving the audience spell bound when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played the show-stopper wearing a wedding lehenga designed by Tarun Tahiliani. On her elegant wrist dazzled the Longines 175 Diamonds, that commemorates this special anniversary year. This limited edition timepiece is available in just 175 pieces, and as the name coquettishly suggests, is encrusted with 175 sparkling diamonds.
Unveiling the new collection, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, said, "This collection of timepieces from Longines is a perfect contribution to complement the wedding finery on this most important occasion in one's life. The collection conveys an extraordinarily different definition of luxury combined with subtle elegance. The Longines range never fails to surprise me, I would like to possess each timepiece that the brand offers."
The DolceVita collection shows neat, trim lines of the 1930s with the glamorous 1950s in a stylish timepiece expressing enjoyment of life in the finest Italian spirit, with a combination of inspired refinement and uniqueness of style.
Longines' BelleArti collection is a tribute in grace and elegance to eternal feminism. It pays homage to the extraordinarily productive period of the 1920s. Based on a historical model, this collection reinterprets the Art Deco movement through aesthetically pleasing and contemporary timepieces. Capturing the soul and the style of Longines, La Grande Classique de Longines with its slim, sleek case profile provides a cool elegance that gives this collection an appeal as enduring as the classic tradition itself.
